Terms of Service
Effective date: 17 September 2026 · Operated by TheArchitect
Please read these Terms carefully before using TheArchitect.
01 / Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form an agreement between you and TheArchitect ("we", "us") governing your use of TheArchitect and https://www.thecloudarchitect.dev (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
02 / The Service
The Service lets you design cloud-architecture diagrams, generate infrastructure-as-code templates (such as CloudFormation and Terraform), estimate costs, and — when you connect your own AWS account — validate and deploy those templates. Features may change, and we may add, modify, or discontinue parts of the Service.
03 / Accounts and eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use.
04 / Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service to violate any law or the rights of others;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts, or any AWS account you are not authorised to use;
- interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service;
- reverse engineer or resell the Service except as permitted by law.
05 / Your AWS account, deployments, and costs
The Service can generate and deploy infrastructure into an AWS account that you connect and control. You are solely responsible for the AWS resources created, updated, or deleted as a result of your use of the Service, for reviewing templates before deploying them, and for all charges, fees, and consequences that AWS bills to your account. We are not a party to your agreement with AWS and are not responsible for AWS charges, service limits, outages, or data loss in your AWS account.
06 / Your content
You retain ownership of the diagrams, configurations, and templates you create ("Your Content"). You grant us the limited licence needed to host, process, and display Your Content in order to operate the Service for you. You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to any content you upload or import.
07 / Intellectual property
The Service itself, including its software, design, and trademarks, is owned by TheArchitect and its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service and no other rights.
08 / Paid plans and billing
Some features may require a paid plan. Where paid plans are offered, the price, billing cycle, and any trial terms will be presented to you before purchase, and are subject to the Refund Policy referenced at checkout. You authorise us and our payment processor to charge the applicable fees. Taxes may apply.
09 / Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Generated templates, cost estimates, and validation results are provided for convenience and may be incomplete or inaccurate; you must review them before relying on or deploying them. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
10 / Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or AWS costs, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
11 / Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims and expenses arising out of your use of the Service, Your Content, your AWS deployments, or your breach of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
12 / Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or to protect the Service. On termination, the sections that by their nature should survive will survive.
13 / Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Bahrain, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The courts of Bahrain will have jurisdiction, unless mandatory law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
14 / Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, by notice in the app. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
